First time for both us and was quite interesting.

Then we headed up on the last part of todays journey.

Salt Palace
Todays first stop is at the Salt Palace in Grand Saline. The building is built out of salt blocks and has been rebuilt 4 times due to the salt wearing out. Was an interesting place and you get to take some samples with you. While there i saw a ad for the Edgewood Heritage village, so that is where we went next.
Edgewood
We managed to get to the Edgewood Heritage Park Museum just before it closed and got to come in for a bit. The village is cool, sadly didn’t get to go inside them. Hopefuly next time we will.
Decided to get a late lunch at the The Lumberyard Cafe in Edgewood. I tried the Southwest Burger and onion rings. Did feel a bit weird eating a burger in tortillas but was good.

After lunch we stopped by the Graham’s Market.
Got some fresh produce and then headed back to Mabank.
Later on we went out for some mexican food for dinner.
When we got back to the house a storm came over and we got to enjoy some nice lightning before we crashed for the night.

Driving towards Woodville
First stop on our way home was at the Kemp Calaboose in Kemp. Jail that Bonnie of Bonnie and Clyde was put in jail. While there we saw that they had a Wildflower Festival. Sadly we didn’t have time for that, so we left to continue on our trip.
Kemp Calaboose.
Met a family of bigfoot on our drive .
Random shots taken during our drive to Woodville.
Found this cool rest stop on our way, very nice.
Heritage Village Museum in Woodville
Stopped by here to have a look and glad we had a couple of hours as there is quite a bit to look at here as you will see in the pictures.
Dinner at the Pickett House
Went in here to try out there AYCE fried chicken.
The inside was very cool with a bunch of original circus posters hanging everywhere. the service and food was very good.
Stopped at Old City Cemetery in Livingston
My honey wanted to stop and take some pictures of the blue bonnets and found this spot by the Old City Cemetery in Livingston.
Nice place even though it was a bit overgrown at some parts.
After that we continued home and finished of another enjoyable trip.
