From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%C3%A5g%C3%A5_kirke Vågå church (Vågåkyrkja) is a cross- church in half-timbered construction from the beginning of the 17th century . It is sometimes referred to as a stave church . There used to be a medieval stave church on the site and some of the building materials are from this and maybe from other stave churches in the area. The church stands at the vicarage, formerly called Ullinsyn ( Ullin Harbor), in Vågå . The old name of the place shows that even in pagan times the church site has been used for worship.
