The hike follows the old post road from the 19th century, which winds along the river down through Rullestadjuvet. You first hike in dramatic scenery on the edge of waterfalls and cliffs. Further down, the landscape is milder, and you can enjoy views of the gardens and the sparkling Rullestad lake. The hiking trail starts at the garden Skromme at the top of old E134 through Rullestadjuvet, and ends up on the gardens below Rullestadvatnet. The road was completed in 2009 and is well signposted and easy to follow. About 2 kilometers. You can walk on the property or groups can rent with a guide that gives the tour experience an extra dimension. The guide gladly shares the rich history along the way. You can imagine the postal farmers, herds drivers and landscape painter Lars Hertervig, who have walked the same track.
Remember: Sneakers / Mountain shoes (NOT shoes with smooth soles), dress for the weather, camera.
