One man's swirling six-acre monument of stone is hidden in the woods below the Overlook and Roundtop Mountains in the Catskills. Expecting that he would need 40 years to complete the work, the sculptor nicknamed the ambitious project Opus 40. It has been described as “one of the largest and most beguiling works of art on the entire continent.”
