Parts of the church are dendrochronologically dated by NIKU for the winter of 1178-1179, which corresponds to a rune inscription in the roof, which indicates the battle of the Calfskin on June 19, 1179, where King Sverre and the birch bones won over Erling Skakke and the bagels .
