From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - https://no.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hopperstad_stavkirke Hopperstad Stave Church is a stave church with raised center room which stands on the farm Hopperstad near Vikøyri in Vik municipality, Sogn and Fjordane county in Norway . The stave church must have been built around the year 1130 and it stands on its original tuft . The church, which has also been called Hoprekstad, is owned by the Fort Memorial . Dendrochronological tests taken in 1997 at seven different places in the church gave dates between 1034 and 1116 , but no final dates. In 1982, during a repair in the northern crossroads, a post hole was revealed, which may indicate that there has previously been a post church on the site.
