The Hallerbos is a beautiful forest, very pleasant to stay. Despite the enormous ecological value of the forest, it seems to have little unique for visitors. But nothing is less true. Around mid-April, the flowering of the forest hyacinth produces a fairy-tale-like purple carpet of flowers. Add to that the young, fresh green beech leaves that just appear on the trees and you understand why photographers and nature lovers from far beyond our borders visit this special forest. Forests with forest hyacinths are unique worldwide.
