Installed and dedicated on Sept. 11, 2011, featuring a Homeland Security seal and gnarled steel beam from the World Trade Center, picked up and hauled back from New York by two border patrol agents. The plaque notes the bizarre timing of the Marfa Sector border patrol building groundbreaking ceremony: Sept. 11, 2001.

Was here on the second day of our thanksgiving trip 2017. Along with the other towns around here, Alpine looked nice, will need to come back again.
