On 14 July 1943, Milos Banjac was shot by a Wehrmacht sentry, his brother drew a cross on the rock face right next to it with the dead man's blood. This event has subsequently made the stretch of road between Rognan and Saksenvik on the east side of the Saltdalsfjord known as the Blood Road. This cross is still marked, In 2016, a documentary was made , Krst od krvi (Blood Cross) about the Banjac brothers, who were both prisoners of war in Norway.

First time, we drove straight past it when coming down from Botn Cemetery. We went on to the museum and then drove back and found it. :)
