Calera Chapel, better known as Mission Mary, a small adobe chapel. Was established in 1902 by Father Nicolas Brocardus, a thirty-four year old Dutch priest who traveled the region performing services including baptisms and marriages. The Calera community built the chapel from rock and adobe for Father Brocardus, that provided religious support for Calera residents until the early 1940s. The chapel fell into disuse until 2002, when the Calera Foundation, restore the historic structure and in May of 2003 was once again open to serves the community, and open to the public for visits, prayer, retreats, and ceremonies.
