The church, which is one of the largest stake churches in Norway . It is customary to date the church until the end of the 1100s , and dendrochronological dating scheduling that it must have occurred in the period after 1157 / 1158 . A number of interesting finds have been made of tombs, post holes and coins during archaeological excavations.
