Plan for this trip

This day we took a day trip out to Kvitsøy, an island located in the middle of the Boknafjorden between Randaberg and Karmøy. The ferry trip from Mekjarvik takes about 35 minutes.

Kvitsøy has a lot of history attached to it, both in the form of cultural monuments and traditions.

The biggest sights on the island are Kvitsøy Lighthouse, Kvitsøy Church, Steinkorset, Kvitsøy Traffic Station and the Lobster Museum.

Kvitsøy Church and Cemetery

We stopped and grabbed some food at the store and headed over to the Church and Cememtery. Had a walk around there and then drove to Leiasundet for our next stop.

Steinkorset / Stone Cross

Stopped at Leiasundet and had a lunch break by the harbour before walking over to the Stone cross.

Back to the Ferry and home

After looking at the stone cross we drove back towards the ferry terminal with a stop on the way to take pictures of some colourful boat houses.

That’s all for this day ;)
