Last day of our castle adventure

Plan for this trip

This is the last day of our weekend getaway. Plan is to check out of the Hotel, drive to Fraser Castle and then to the airport, deliver the rental car and get on the airplane to go home.

Trip in to the Castle

We got up and checked out of our hotel and started our journey towards Castle Fraser. On our way we stoppped and got some breakfast and scottish snacks to take home. Then continued to the castle. On our way we saw what looked like a castle but was just the entrance gates to Loch of Skene, was very cool.

Arrival at Castle Fraser

Arrived at the castle just after they opened. Had walk around on the outside, since we entered on the wrong side. Then got our tickets and went inside.

Inside the castle

Castle Fraser is a self guided castle with hosts in different sections that can tell you about the history and stories about the rooms and the people that lived there. They was all very imformative amd helpful. This section shows pictures on our way up to the top

Top of  the castle

You can get to the top of the castle and enjoy the awesome view from there, well worth all the stairs to get there.

The weather was awesome and got to take some more pictures from around the castle. There is a second hand book store which is worth a trip in, we found 4 books of interest to take home.

Walled Garden

We had time to walk through the garden at the castle, was very nice and still had a lot of flowers blooming. well worth a walk in.

The End

After this we drove to the airport, delivered the rental car and flew back home. Was a very enjoyable trip and look forward to the next time we get a chance to visit some castles over here.
