Bakke Bru

Hanging bridge completed in 1844. Located near the Sira beach, and part of the scenic Tronåsen route.

The bridge is grand with beautiful architecture. The two towers were built from natural stone. In 1959 it was declared protected. It is still in use today.

In 1931 Rally Monte Carlo passed Tronåsen and Bakke Bridge. The current E39 did not exist and everybody passed Tronåsen which was the highway of that time. People were probably very happy to reach Bakke Bridge since Tronåsen was very demanding for the old cars of that time.

Today the traffic goes one way; from Moi to Sira.
There is a beautiful recreational area next to the Bakke Bridge suitable for swimming.
